Explain how your experience affected you as a person? This experience helped me grow and become a better person by teaching me patience. Patience was key when teaching kids this young, because if they don't get it at first it's all about explaining to them how to fix it and also continuing to encourage them they can do it.
How did you change, if at all? This experience didn't really change me all that much, but if it did change one thing it helped me learn how to communicate a lot better.
Was this experience meaningful? Why or why not? I feel this experience was very meaningful, it was great to know that I was making an impact on someone else's life just besides mine. I knew that I was helping younger kids learn to play a game at a higher level at a younger age.
What new knowledge or skills did you learn from this experience? I definitely gained new skills during this experience, I gained the characteristic of patience as well as better communication skills. Being that most of the families that were with these kids were Hispanic, I learned a lot of Spanish by just listening to them and was able to take the knowledge of Spanish I learned and was able to communicate with families in Spanish.
How would you do it differently if you had to start over? If I had to start over I would have definitely taken Spanish more seriously and would have tried to learn more during those 3 years of Spanish, I would have tried to become more fluent if I knew it would come into play when having to communicate with these kids parents.
